LAURA PIERSON, JD/MBA has worked in the field of Conflict Resolution and Alternative Dispute Resolution for the last 14 years. She conducts trainings, mediations, arbitrations, facilitations and consults with a wide variety of organizations in the development and design of conflict management systems including corporations, government agencies, educational institutions, and other groups.  Pierson is a frequent speaker and trainer in the field of conflict management and has worked with clients such as ATT, Boeing, the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, Federal Aviation Administration, Immunex, Microsoft, Tulalip Tribes, University of Alaska, University of Washington’s Law School, US Postal Service, and others. She has spoken at several national conferences such as the Society for Professionals in Dispute Resolution, the National Association of Conflict Resolution, and the Canadian Alternative Dispute Resolution Conference, Quebec, Canada.

 

She is currently training & facilitating various groups at Microsoft, including Canada and India. She also formerly served as the Director of the Dispute Resolution Center of Snohomish & Island Counties.

 

Pierson has participated in several specialized conflict management programs including the Federal Mediation Consortium, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the United States Postal Service and the Washington State Education Mediation Program. She was recently nominated for the President’s Award from the Washington State Mediation Association for outstanding contributions to the field.

 

As a graduate of the University of Washington’s School of Law and the Graduate School of Business Administration, Pierson has also studied with the American Arbitration Association, the Justice Center of Atlanta, and the Justice Institute of British Columbia. She is board member & former Qualifications chair of the Washington Mediation Association, a member of the Resolution Washington Association of Washington State Dispute Resolution Centers, the Washington State Bar Association, the Dispute Resolution Section of the Bar, the Association for Conflict Resolution and the National Association for Community Mediation.
